In Brief
For as long as movies have been around, the subject of escape has always drawn a buzz of excitement and suspense. Prison Break is a deeply dark show about two brothers, Michael and Lincoln Burrows. Lincoln is falsely imprisoned for Murder and is sentenced to death. Michael cannot allow that to happen and so devises a plan to break Lincoln out. In order to do so, he must be convicted of a crime and sent to the same Prison as the only way he can do it is from the inside.

In Depth
For as long as movies have been around, the subject of escape has always drawn a buzz of excitement and suspense. Prison Break is a deeply dark show about two brothers, Michael and Lincoln Burrows. Lincoln is falsely imprisoned for Murder and is sentenced to death. Michael cannot allow that to happen and so devises a plan to break Lincoln out. In order to do so, he must be convicted of a crime and sent to the same Prison as the only way he can do it is from the inside. As clever as Michael is, he doesn’t foresee many of the events that unfold within the prison walls and his plans are constantly hindered as events take their turn and Lincoln’s time runs out. Michael forges partnerships with some of the inmates out of necessity though while some of his new associates are locked up because they deserve to be, others are inside because the justice system let them down. Michael is not without friends who try and help him from the outside by investigating the strange circumstances of Lincoln’s imprisonment. Prison Break is one of those shows that become virtually unmissable once the viewer has seen the first episode. It is a clever and very well calculated story piling political conspiracy theory on top of prison politics and primal human manipulation of first class quality. The characters are wide and varied, played by some of television and film’s heavyweight actors and there no shortage of suspense, fear, disbelief and adrenalin fuelled heart racing escape artistry. Each season moves the story on quickly and the overall pace of the show is simply perfect. There has never been a show about escape that matches the quality of this one and with flawless, energetic and gritty performances by all those involved it is no wonder why Prison Break has become such a major TV success story.
